Who we are at ArTouro Travels:

Anne Harrison

Carol Maranda

Anne Harrison has taught for the past 25 years in Toronto and Montreal.  She has been studying drawing, painting and sculpture and creating her own artwork in Toronto and Mexico for over 20 years.

Anne loves alternative tourism, and has journeyed extensively in Europe, India, Thailand, Malaysia, Nepal, and Central America. Rather than merely being a tourist, Anne has enjoyed experiencing the local flavour wherever she has travelled.  She has cycled through the Greek Islands, Ireland, France, and Italy, and hiked across Britain, in northern Thailand, and in Nepal.  For Anne, the combination of art and travel is the fulfillment of a lifelong dream that  successfully expresses her belief in the importance of the travel experience as part of lifelong learning.

Artourotravels was born out of Anne's love of unconventional travel and her desire to share this wonderful experience with other like-minded individuals. What better way to really see a country than to have the opportunity to sit and draw its people, its architecture and its landscapes?

Carol Maranda is a former teacher who has taught in Toronto, Germany, and Mexico. Her teaching specialties are art and drama.

Carol and her husband have travelled extensively in Europe where they lived for six years as well as Cuba, Thailand, Japan, Mexico and Peru.

After teaching in Mexico both she and her husband fell in love with the people, culture, music, weather and the fresh and fabulous food of this exciting and varied country. They now spend a good part of each year living and travelling around Mexico.

Carol is also involved in her own jewelry making business which she calls "Marandas Maniac". While not living in Mexico or travelling to other destinations, Carol and her husband divide their time between the cultural town of Cobourg and the beauty of the Muskokas.
